Eric VanVleet, as a young man, had always wanted to control his own destiny. A cornerstone for that desire was owning your own business. A wise man recommended the insurance business as it required very little capitol for a start-up. It would require time, the only asset Eric had plenty of.
The agency was started in 1981 in an old federal style house at 1110 South A Street in Richmond. Three years later through a twist of fate, Eric was able to represent Erie Insurance. This relationship fueled the growth of the agency through three decades resulting in 16 full-time employees and a beautiful new location at 1 Glen Miller Parkway.
The addition of Brad VanVleet and his wife, Kelly, 20 years ago, accelerated the growth and provided the agency a bright future. It is truly a family business.
