OUR HISTORY: A LEGACY OF SERVICE & GROWTH
Eric VanVleet founded VanVleet Insurance after eight years of mentorship in the commercial insurance field. He purchased and renovated a historic federal-style building at 1110 South A Street in Richmond, Indiana, establishing the agency’s first home.
Brad VanVleet, Eric’s son, joined the agency after earning a business degree from the University of Dayton, continuing the family legacy.
Brad received the Governor’s Award for Tomorrow’s Leaders, recognizing his excellence as an entrepreneurial leader, volunteer, and scholar.
After 32 years at the original location, VanVleet Insurance moved to a new, modern office at 1 Glen Miller Parkway. The new space features a single-floor layout, drive-thru window, skylights, ample parking, and dual access points.
VanVleet Insurance was honored with the Erie Insurance F.W. Hirt Quality Agency Award, Erie’s highest recognition for exceptional service and performance. The agency has received this award three times since 1981.
Kyle Zajdel was promoted to Vice President of Life and Health Sales, marking his growth since joining in 2007.
VanVleet also received Erie’s Life Recognition Award, which it has earned annually since 2011.
To accommodate growth, VanVleet added 2,200 sq ft of office space, creating a dedicated area for life, health, and Medicare supplement services.
The agency was also honored with the Achievement of Excellence, Small Business Award by the Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce.

VanVleet Insurance celebrated 40 years in business, with Brad VanVleet reflecting on the privilege of continuing the family legacy alongside his father and wife.

With a team of 23 professionals, VanVleet began its second expansion—adding 2,000 sq ft, six new offices, and a shared meeting space to support continued growth and client service excellence.
